How to: Change the default appearance of datasheets.
Solution:
Select 'Options...' from the 'Tools' menu, make any changes to the settings for the font, color, gridline, column width, or cell effect on the 'Datasheet' tab, and click 'Apply' or 'OK'.
1) Select the 'Tools' menu and select 'Options...'. (The Options dialog box appears.)
2) Click the 'Datasheet' tab.
3) To change the default appearance of datasheets, do one or more of the following:
a) To change the default font settings, do one or more of the following in the 'Default Font' group:

1] Select a new font from the 'Font' drop-down list.
2] Select the desired weight from the 'Weight' drop-down list.
3] Select the desired size from the 'Size' drop-down list.
4] Select the 'Italic' check box to italicize the font.
5] Select the 'Underline' check box to underline the font.
b) To change the default colors, do one or more of the following in the 'Default Colors' group:

1] Select a new color for the font from the 'Font' drop-down list.
2] Select a new color for the datasheet background from the 'Background' drop-down list.
3] Select a new color for gridlines from the 'Gridlines' drop-down list.
c) To change the default gridline setting, do one of the following in the 'Default Gridlines Showing' group:
the Default Gridlines Showing group
1] Select only the 'Horizontal' check box to display only horizontal gridlines.
2] Select only the 'Vertical' check box to display only vertical gridlines.
3] Select both the 'Horizontal' and the 'Vertical' check boxes to display both horizontal and vertical gridlines.
d) To change the default column width of all datasheets, type a new measurement in the 'Default Column Width' box.

NOTE: Make sure to use the correct system of measurement (inches or centimeters). The system of measurement is defined under Regional Settings in the Windows Control Panel.
e) To change the default cell appearance on datasheets, do one of the following in the 'Default Cell Effect' group:

1] Select the 'Flat' radio button to change from the sunken or raised effect to flat.
2] Select the 'Sunken' radio button to change from the flat or raised effect to sunken.
3] Select the 'Raised' radio button to change from the flat or sunken effect to raised.
4) Do one of the following:
a) Click 'Apply' to apply the new settings and keep the 'Options' dialog box open.
NOTE: Click 'Apply' when there are changes that need to be made to settings on another tab. This avoids having to re-open the 'Options' dialog box.
b) Click 'OK' to apply the new settings and close the 'Options' dialog box.
